i know its boring about how much MPG should i be getting in my 1.8?
Sweet fanny adams!

Nah i used to always get 250 miles from a tank regardless of if i was motorway driving or ragging it. No idea why.

You can work out the MPG from that, I'm going to the pub Smile
That is horrific :|
You're telling me! Joys of a N/A petrol engine eh?
Pff, i get 400+ to a tank in the Wallye with normal driving. 450 being the best.

Yeah i did 120 miles today to just over a quarter of a tank and on the way back, i was hardly hanging around. They can be quite good on fuel tbh

Its still ra*e when thats over 1 tank of fuel and a tank of fuel is nearing £80-85 quid!
How the hell do you get such good MPG, don't think i ever got much better than 300 odd miles out a tank in my 6.
My highest today was 19mpg

Because you drive like a arse??
If thats the case, I must also drive like an Arse.

You do!!!!
I have never got much better than 300 in mine either!!
Its funny that you have the same opinion as my local traffic officer. I am seeing a trend here....
in all fairness, all of my drive today was motorway. Show it some town or even a good fun A road and it drastically drops! Cant have much fun on a motorway Sad
You must drive quite swiftly all of the time or you have a sensor away. I guess it does help with the fact my Rallye has nothing in it but still... Its all about maintaining momentum. I dont thrash it all of the time (and imagine that id see much less to a tank if i did) But just pottering, 5th at 30 - 6th at 40.
Jesus how many gear changes! I'm in 3rd at 40, at about 2300-2400 revs....
3 gear changes, 1st to 3rd, 3rd to 5th and at 40 5th to 6th.
used to get 350 - 400 miles to a tank generally. although i got 48 mpg out of it once....
haha, 480 miles to a tank local driving mine Big Grin
Last tank I got 493 miles to 43.10 litres.
I used to get between 35-38mpg from my 1.8. That's about 450 miles to a tank.
I've heard golfs are better on fuel. And they ride better. And they're more reliable. And they're comfier. And they're....

and the air con probably works..... :p

You're listening to the right people then Sean. Wink

And it does Chris, electronic climate control is nice! Big Grin Well it would've been if I'd used it out of Eco mode, I didn't want to waste fuel lol.

But don't go off topic. Tongue
your all not trying hard enough!! none of you are in single figures Big Grin
