Decided to move on from the saxo and 306 even tho i still have them, went for a newish car that has a good spec and was reasonably priced. Always liked the astras since back in 2004 when they came out and always had a soft spot for the vxr so it was going to be one of them, but insurance was a nono so had to go for the next best thing.

What the saxo and 306 looked like when i finished with them

Now for the new purchase

Had the car about 6weeks now, so far egr f*cked up and gearbox has gone.
On the plus side ive had it remapped to around 200bhp on the button and 330ft/lbs

Went to argos and picked up a C120 pressure washer, so gave it a try and after a fairly quick wash this was the result.

Nice looking cars these, has it got rear parking sensors or do you posess a sixth sense? They're a bitch to reverse lol.

The colour coding is nice but I think the front grille is 'too much' red? Photoshop it all black or an Irmscher one might look good.
150hp?
This car is porn imo. I absolutely love these and I will be having one next year hopefully

Agreed it is very diffcult to reverse park but suppose i will get used to it, the red grill is a optional extra that not many have so it will be staying. The car is also loaded with loads more too but unfortunatly no sat nav or parking sensors

It is a good looker Smile, when you go for one dont go for a cheap one unless you know its not been ragged. The engines in these are good, egr valve only problem but egr valve can cause problems with the swirl flaps. Gearboxes are fitted with bearings made of a soft soft metal so even if your gearbox is fine go for some uprated bearings.

£600?! To be fair that's not a bad price if it's a full rebuild, but hopefully you get some form of warranty on the gearbox now from the people who rebuilt it?

The dealer should have paid out for that, tbf. Unless it was sold on the understanding that the gearbox was shagged already (ie. big discount) then SOGA comes into play, and the car could have been rejected altogether as not fit for purpose.
Well car came with warranty and they put it down as wear and tear, so small claims court it is.

Car needs a boost control valve solenoid then will be running perfect.
