Does anyone know what the wires that plug in at the rear of the ECU coming from behind the suspension strut on the 306 HDi do

Wire numbers Yellow 1301, Grey 1301, Orange E282, Brown 1297, Yellow 1279A, Blue 1301 and Yellow 1279B

They don't run into anything obvious, they just join the main engine loom. I don't want to have to strip the loom to work it out.
Yea are they on one of the round multi plugs? if so they plug into the main engine bay loom on the hdi. On the 3 plug ecus this is done away with and plugs straight into the ecu.

Don't know what they control though.
But it's worth popping in the whole bay loom from the hdi to replace the 2.0 on on yours and go from there.

If it was a ph3 it would have been plug and play with just swapping the engine, engine loom, bay loom, fuel tank and dials.
you sure you have the correct wire numbers?

1301 : signal sonde lambda B (-) amont catalyseur
1297 : vertical rod solenoid valve 1 control
1279 : Engine management diagnostic indicator light command
282 : right main beam supply

thinking about it
most of them are in the fusebox on the iner wing Wink

Poodle has very very kindly tested this for me by unplugging his and running his car.

EML comes on and goes off with the ignition fine
Main beams work fine.
Car starts and runs as it should
Rev counter works

Only thing that dosen't work as far as he can tell is the engine fans don't come on so its possibly air con and fan related.
Oops, missed that post lol, ignore me.
Poodle repped for being awesome anyway

Would appear to be around this area.

That is under Automatic cooling control...
Based on past experience, is getting rid of your auto-cooling a very good idea..? :p
That appears to be the circuit for the Climate control...

I think it must be something to do with Air con back to the ECU and bitron :/
I tested the fans by shorting the aircon plug, seems pretty conclusive lol.
This will be awesome if it means it's gone by getting rid of the AC then it's awesome.
