Guaranteed you did the damage with the TD04 on... Finally it's given up with the K14...

this^^^^^^^^ . . . . .i've been trying to free a conrod with my K14 for ages now and it's not possible . .lol
Ive had this before but a bigger slick line lol

And for the record that pic of my blaze was totally stock on lucas no mods
I left a trail for about 150m when mine went
Im not gonna say I told you so

Oh wait, yes I am! Told you so!!!
R.I.P.
It would be interesting if a more scientific approach was adopted instead of "Car just shat a conrod, going to scrapyard". It is quite sobering as well since I have maxed my pump now and have ZERO money to do anything if the worst happens.
Well that's that then lol
The hdi wasn't that good might have looked it but I wrote a list that stuff needed spending on it come to over £500, what's done is done gutted but glad it happened before I spent a load on it as was just on way to to get some alloys and lowering springs, etc

Might have got a low mileage 106 1.5d but waiting on them to get back me
Buy cheap, buy twice.

Not always true known people spend £££££'s and still have issues, no matter what car you buy you will have issues eventually

Depends how you look at it, sometimes it's not worth spending more than the car is worth. Depends on how you feel about it.

Interesting analysis Ruan. As we know, the TD04 facilitiates high revs, would you say this was as a result of revving the engine higher than a K14 would allow? Or increased cylinder pressures? But the cylinder pressures wouldn't be as high, since you don't have to run a TD04 at as high boost to generate decent power. Unless the owner got greedy and pushed the engine too far.

This. If the car isn't worth much more than the fixing cost then theres very little point (unless you are intimately involved and couldn't part with the car, and have more money than you know what to do with). Imagine if you'd spent £500 on the car, then a week later something catastrophic happens....maybe engine failure or its crashed or whatever....you'd never get that £500 back. Much better (imo) to cut you're losses before that happens, sell/break the car for £500 and move on. Sure it's a gamble, sometimes it is better the devil you know and the car may be fine after it......but if not.... Confused
