Swapped my iPhone 5 for a Galaxy S3. The S3 is locked to Virgin mobile. How do I go about unlocking it without voiding the warranty?

Any done it before. Cheers.
There should be a guide on Xdev, you'll need to root it first probably.

The easiest way to unlock is to get the previous owner to talk to their network and get it unlocked by them.
Iirc if you put a virgin sim in top up £30 and ring virgin they will give you a code to unlock it. I done this with a virgin phone around a year ago mayb worth ringing them to ask Wink
Root the phone and use an app on the andro market.

Help you with it when I get to my laptop and I have all the files
I'm garbage when it comes to doing technical stuff. Rooting it? not a clue.

Company below quoted £10.99 to unlock it. By sending me a code?

XDA Developers. Google it.

Root the phone, unlock the bootloader etc etc and stuff.

Then you could look at a custom ROM.

P.s Android ftw!
Yes, or the above of you really don't want to void the warranty.

If you want to unlock your Samsung Galaxy S3 mobile phone from the network lock,I would suggest you to get an unlock code from Superunlockcodes.com at reasonable price.
Was sorted in March when I started the thread. Cheers anyway chuck.
Did you pay or do it for free?

There's a free app for it on the Market, works a treat.
Turned out my 02 sum worked in it. It was in Virgin originally.
