Been wondering something for a while now and figured id stick it up here as someone might no the answer

Basically wondering if you could convert a single optic stalk to work in the same way as twin optic for the lights, I was thinking you could just link the dipped/main beam wires together after the stalk with an inline diode to stop it back feeding to main beam when you only have dipped beam on

Any reason this wouldnt work?

I have a twin optic stalk you can have for £6 posted :-)
I'll have it off you come payday mate (friday) but I'm still curious lol
Haha fair enough drop.me a pm or something :-)
i would think you would burn out the switch by doubling the switching current

but in theory yes it would work with the switch rating and the diode rating being high enough
As above really but it's more hassle than just swapping the stalk which you can get for £6 lol
for ph1...
my headlights dipped stay on when main is applied so I believe the ph1 stalks dont need switching
Probably not the best idea then was only an idea

Piggy its only some Ph1 stalks that are twin optic, gti, s16 and xsi iirc?
