Hey guys,

My renewal is due, just wanted to ask for recommendations. With the mods im planning being performance enhancing i want to declare everything now, ive had little bits on the car for cosmetics but nothing really performance related so far.

Also are there any companies that give discount for members?
Yes. Look in the traders section and there is two insurance companies in there.

You want to go with a specialist modified car insurer if possible (and depending on your age). Normally, they dont care what the modification is, they just care about the power output unlike conventional insurance companies when as soon as you mention turbos or bodies, their eyes light up and they start adding loads of zeros onto your premium.
Nice 1 Niall, thanks. Looked in the traders section when i first joined but only really saw stickers and bits... I'll have a look now.

Age isnt really a problem, not long turned 30 so i should be well out of the young drivers bracket by now
Oh if your 30, you will be fine. Most of these modified insurance companies wont insure you if your under 19/21 or will only insure you TPF&T.
Have a look in the traders section. I'll sort you out Wink

Learnt that lesson the hard way, completely uninsurable on a renault 5 turbo when id just turned 18!! haha
Brentacre don't charge extra to cover like for like on visual aesthetic modifications and only give a BHP limit for performance mods. Again still insuring like for like so you're covered :-)
They also gave me some decent FREE extras such as 90day euro breakdown cover as well as UK cover. Legal fees blah blah and key cover

I'd reccomend a call and they're usually pretty good beating previous quotes
Flux are best so I've been told, haven't tried them as I have my own traders policy :S

Thanks, a few good leads to go on so far, only got my renewal letter today! For once i'm on the ball...
Brentacre are mint, i told them everything with the rover, capped it on horse power that was it. even mirror noclaims too if you decide you want a second car.
I was with flux for years and the price just kept going up! They would charge me 20 to add something to the policy!

Switched to brentacre who beat flux quote wise, and they don't charge you for changes. Gave me a power limit, told me not to go over it, but do what I like to it for no extra cost!!!! Winnaar
