Well I've wanted an estate for a while now and also been curious as to what the HDi game is all about so when the opertunity came to own Birk's old car I did a straight swap with Bengley.
Current spec is:
Prosteve Stage 2 map
Lowered on lowering springs at the front and rear beam lowered to match
Custom white paintwork - all smoothed
Since I have had it I've black masked the headlights
Fitted fog lights (plus cully flash mod)
Fitted manual boost controller and boost gauge
Fitted gunmetal challengers with 15mm hubcentric spacers all round
Pics:
Short term plans are:
Colour code grille, hockey sticks an mirrors
Sort out both number plates
Fit red '6 calipers
Sort something for rear lights (open to suggestions)
Sort some kind of boot popper
Long term plans are to go 16v, either with the 2.0 or 2.2
All thought and opinions welcome
Looks good... should of tried getting the bricks off him too!
Bricks? lol
Oh and notice my fail from a frozen shut door!
Brocks !!! Sp checker fail
Good plans. Going to factor a clutch in there? Is it front mounted
Yea, should of mentioned its got a '6 flywheel and clutch and fmic, I might move the front mount forward so it can be seen better
Yea. I liked the brocks but could never have afforded them plus I don't really want a carbon copy of his car besides I think they grey challengers suit it
definition of smoooth
Looks good but I think estates look strange without roof bars
It will a lot different when you get the grille painted.
I'm eager to see what power it makes after you fit a MBC properly, unlike me lol
Cheers for the positive comments chaps! And Phil, I know what you mean about the roof bars but i like it like this!

Yea, pulls much better now, booked into a dyno session next week
Oh so you have fitted it?
In my opnion the challengers dont suit it to be honest think smaller wheels would look better

Yep, fitted and boosting 20psi, not really sure how much boost is needed, complete novice to hdi tuning. With an XUD you just match the boost to the fueling manually depending on how much smoke is pouring out the back!

Appreciate the comment mate, but I like it!!!! I might have another think at some point but muxh more to be done first!
20 psi should be fine, depending on which turbo it has i wouldn't take it much over that
Looking good mate think your gonna have to custom make some rear lights either that or I have seen rear lights painted same as the car but the normal colour shows through as normal dunno how though

Cheers mate, its a GT15 I think

I've been looking at fly eyes but not too sure, going to try it maybe and see what it looks like
Does anyone know if having no side repeaters is mot legal?
Yeah 20 psi should be perfect then, my old HDi was at 19psi on a ko3 and that pulled 155bhp, much more than that and it's out of it's efficiency anyway

That sounds about right then. Cheers pal!
You have to have side repeaters but don't have to be on wing can be on mirrors

Hmm, may have to put them back in then, cba to route the wires up into the doors to some tacky aftermarket mirrors, shame, I like the smooth!
See if you can find some off a different car that sit flush with the wing
I may just get some temporary wings just for the mot but I will have a look out for what else I can use
that rear number plate is illegal. not only is it too small it isnt lit up!
Its got a light at the bottom of the bumper, doesn't work though lol
So when you getting it on the rollers ?
Has Neil been to have a look at the welding you wanted doing Dan?

New square plate ordered!

The light works now, I just tapped a wire straight into the back of the rear light cluster.
Rollers tomorrow hopefully!

Yes mate, getting it done in a couple of weeks, really nice chap, thanks again.
Looks tidy! Be interesting to see dyno results!
I'll be kicking myself for getting rid if it makes good power lol
Looks nice. I don't think the dyno will produce anything unexpected. Between 150 and 160 I expect?
Just got back from the dyno place and there was a sign in the door saying that they had to leave early! Well pissed off
