I put a window in a master van a few years ago and the bonding was crap to say the least. Ended up starting again and using some bonding I got from a local coach building place. Never had a issue. Am guessing they have upd the game abit since then. Glad all went well good luck with the project will be watching. Been wanting to do one

Bonding is very simple as long as you make sure the bond is even and straight. The other issue is it's SO vital that you have primed the bond line on both the glass and the bodywork as if not it'll literally pull off once dry. Luckily it looks as though Paul has primed half the van and glass so there's no chance of that happening Wink

I'd have been sacked at AG for using that much primer lol

Fair play though, really hope you've just forgotten to mention you've been filing these edges you've been cutting out on the window and also the socket though as they'll be stupidly sharp.

I may of got carried away with the black shit the kit was enough to do two windows

soooooo two windows are done! Smile

the good thing about this is I've saved myself the £200+Vat i was quoted to have these fitted
it only cost me £35 for the new tool, the clark Nibbler

Good work Cully.
There is definitely something fun about sleeping in a van, not sure what it is but I enjoy it anyway.

started on the insulation
larger box profiles have been stuffed with insulation
side will be foil bubble>recycled plastic insulation>foil bubble

roof will be the same foil bubble>recycled plastic insulation>foil bubble

for the O/side i need to get some some timber to add some fixing points for securing the furniture
also need to get some battens for the ceiling fixings

Looking good again.
Don't stuff it in too much thinking more is better with the glass fibre.
The air trapped is key,it works best when not compacted, air entrapment an all that.
Vapour barrier would be good, tyvec is best as a breathable membrane.

the foil bubble wrap is a vapour barrier and I'am not tightly packing the plastic wool Wink

i didn't use glass fibre as it releases partials into the air if not totally sealed in, it also absorbs moisture.
the last thing i want to be breathing in is fibre glass

I have yet to remove the floor boards, they will be coming up

been a long day today cutting wood offering up cutting and trimming

have fixed one panel, have also put in a timber to fix the kitchen too, and also finished fixing the battens to the cieling, have had to move some cables around to make fitting panels on the other side easier, have also routed the 16mm battery cables and created Earth bonding points for the 240v and 12v- wires

I will be glad to go back to work on Thursday for a rest Smile

I'm guessing if you ever sell this having at classed as a Motor Caravan will increase the value slightly? Any other perks? Cheaper insurance, tax?
