Great, that suggests mine might clear some bigger calipers.

Thanks.

Update

This weekend i got the car ready for mot, checked everything over, i noticed my rear tyres were boarder line so i swapped them over for some fairly new bridgestones i had. Made up a temporary filter for the charger until i can get over to jek so i found some pond filtering in the workshop.

I hadent driven the car in over 2 month and was extremely weird getting back in it. Drove it to the mot station which was around 10miles which gave me time to get used to it again and totally forgot how much i enjoy driving it! I arrived at the station and got it on the emissions tester straight away. Ive always taken the laptop with me just incase for emissions purposes and knowing that ive been fighting with a idle valve problem for awhile. Luckily it passed without a hitch, then the car continued with its test. Having known the guy for years we had a good chat during the test, followed by his method of checking "thats new" "thats new" etc I came away with a pass and no advisories.

Apon my journey home this is where my week turned bad, i was driving through a section of trees which was well lite due to the sun to have a deer jump out from the other side of the road and cross my path. I was quick in reacting and veered to the right hard aswell as locking the fronts from 60mph. Unfortunately the deer was a big stag and just clipped his rear leg with the front end of the car. Pulled over straight way and got out to see the damaged, luckily id struck it with the headlight and indicator and bumper and having not caused any pannel damage. Limped it back to the workshop.

Today i got stripping it down to asses any further damage. It had bent the nearside bumper bracket luckily i managed to straighten that out in the vice. Naturally i would need a new bumper and red trim which ive sourced a good aftermarket on from ebay same as i had on the car and ive a good pile of red trims at home. The bottom valance came away uncracked surprisingly with only paint chips from the towing eye. Dan was kind enough to give me a headlight and i ordered a very pricey indicator from eurocarparts at £5! And i think ive got a cut in a silicone joiner from where the valance was pushed into it. Thankfully i got off lightly.

Please insert all your deer jokes below i think ive heard them all now  lol

Lucky it didn't smash that bonnet..that would of been alot worse!

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 21-04-2015

luckily i dont have the new bonnet yet the current bonnet is old and dieing slowly

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - 306Dan - 22-04-2015

Oh deer, glad to hear the damage wasn't worse I've seen cars after a deer/simular hit

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - RetroPug - 22-04-2015

You paid deerly for that indicator!

Glad the damage isn't too bad.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Eeyore - 22-04-2015

I hit a pheasant the other day. Completely took out the grille on the saab! We just all need to be aware that this wildlife exists.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 09-05-2015

Got the car back together after my miss hap. Repainted the front valance after the towing eye took its anger out on it and fitted a new front bumper along with another red trim that i had stashed away. I managed to get a lucas indicator after eurodickheads sent 2 of the drivers side.
Took it for a nice long hoon and started to remember what it was like to drive. Performed fault less and put a smile on my face throwing it into corners. My braking balance seems alot better after fitting the bias valve and less twitchy under hard braking. I have noticed im down on boost slightly but the car is due at jek for new pipe work so will investigate after just glad to have it back on the road atm.

looking great there stef! I have had a seagull fly out at me at 60, that ended up with a smashed spot lamp and a dint on the bonnet.
its mad how you forget what a well tooled up car is like when you haven't been in the seat for a while!

Oh i completely agree its like driving on rails again, Dont get me wrong ive been driving a 07 plate civic 2.2 cdti for awhile now and its quick very quick to be fair but doesnt have the same effect out on the roads.

The 205 is now a Jek for some pipe work which should tidy it up alot, meanwhile bonnet number 4 has turned up and ill start bonding the inner hinge panel to it and ive got to contact aero catch as ive lost the templates. The car is booked in for the tuesday after the bank holiday at the bodyshop for them to paint the bonnet and wings to blend everything in, hopefully ill make fcs!

missed the accident, glad you go off lightly there.

seen smaller animals do far worse damage!

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - bashbarnard - 19-05-2015

Christ you did get off light. I hit a hare once in one of my old 306s and the bumper got pretty much ripped off!!

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 19-05-2015

I agree i got off lightly but some parts for the 205's are coming hard to find now and ive alot of money behind that bumper. I did have quick reactions and did lock up hard and i did slow down hell of alot and glad i didnt hit it at my speed i was doing prior to it.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 25-05-2015

small update bonnet number 4 arrvied last week so i got the inner skin bonded in and got the aero catches mounted. Will be going off to the bodyshop tomorrow to have it painted and the wings blended. In other news i had another 205 arrive at the workshop for some work.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 03-06-2015

small update:-

Ive had the bonnet painted and the wings blended to match bonnet isnt 100% but its fg so to be expected and the colour doesnt help but never less its weird having a painted bonnet after 5 years of having a non painted one, also cant get over the ease of the aerocatches! Ive had a change around with my pulley ratios as since the new charger was fitted the boost wasnt at the correct level ive now gone back to a oem size crank pulley and a larger s/c pulley this has cured my belt slip. I also been struggling with icv issues for ages so ive finally binned the bloody thing! got the map to work fairly well without it although sandy wants it back to check over it all. Ive also made up a "btcc" style bonnet stay the original stay is useless and was rubbing the fuel lines when closed the new stay sits over the strut brace and sits into a piece of angled alui in the top of the bonnet.

Really is a stunning little motor that!

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 11-06-2015

Back from FCS, car drove well up was taking it fairyly easy as the map is all over the place atm, really struggling with the dv's slamming shut at low load sites around 3k+ and sending me onto full boost. Sat at around 15afr on the way up possibly a little lean but seemed happy engine ran happy all day even in traffic with 40deg air temps! Arrived at combe parked up after my 20 point maneuver lol  I left a little early as i was up early and was extremely tired, sorry to those i didnt get to chat to! But all in all i had a good day.
[Image: 672D9061-5065-4DEF-B949-10050EE03D24_zpsf0eonyab.jpg]

Ive noticed my bonnet stay isnt practical lmao but the wind didnt help

Ive been in deep talks with niall and guy at omex about a ecu controlled dump valve either via a vacuum solenoid or electronic tb of some kind, this should give us more control and and better drivabillity. The omex has a wastegate map that is load over rpm controlled which is ideal for this situation.

But on a better note i had a awesome parcel arrive today that id been wanting for ages...

LSD! Big Grin Kindly supplied by miles I hopefully will be able to finally get some power to the road, Ive ordered a new set of crown wheel bolts and genuine shaft seals from peugeot along with a new luk clutch which made sence while the box is out. Hopefully i can get started on it at the weekend.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 29-06-2015

Diff is now in and the feel on the road is amazing completely transformed it, turn in is so sharp and will oversteer if not carefull. Since i have no powersteering naturally im finding it harder to steer it so i am planning to retro fit pas to it using a saxo/106 pump mated with possibly a new vts rack.

In other news ive been on the hunt to sort my drivability problems mainly down to the dv's shutting early and lack of control so after speaking to a few people and specialists ive bought a new bov that is designed for supercharger applications due to its internal spring.

[Image: E9B2C831-524B-4AE5-AC16-E16DFA74C6EA_zpsixnfwouh.jpg]

This is it, this is a tial sports q bov it has a 50mm valve! utter massive and will do the job of many dv's. It is v band fittment and should be alot neater and provide a perfect seal. Its supplied with a alui weld on flange but untill my new pipe work is made i will have a steel flange welded to my excising pipe work. Im back with sandy on the 7th so hopefully ill know then whether it has paid off.

[Image: D217CE49-DA33-43EA-B0DC-F2C6AA7E00D0_zpsrjctibsj.jpg]

As you can see its a little big..... ill most likely have it welded there for now just needs to be functional for mapping.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - procta - 29-06-2015

cracking upgrade! mine is a bastard for turning, no pas with wide tyres! I have thought about putting a diff in mine, but its getting hold of one now, as they go for some right old money, when they pop up!

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 01-07-2015

Quick update:-

Got the tial bov valve fitted today such a difference already despite the map will need altering to suit it.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 07-07-2015

today came around quick and was time to visit sandy again down in launceston at srd. I left at around 8.30 and made the trip down car already felt strong and drove faultless cruised at a steady 80mph and arrived at around 9.30.

Got it on the rollers around 10.30 after a good chat and catch up and left sandy to it.

[Image: F5CDA25E-D21C-4276-9CF7-E2EC6978748C_zpspkyka8gn.jpg]

Through out the day it was amazing to see the map changing to the new bov and charger changes, more and more fuel went in injector duty slowly turning red! things started to get more and more intense through out the day and my ears are now suffering! bloody noise!

Sandy wanted to further tune it on the road as normal. As expected the car reacted differently again wanted more fuel! but it felt so much different so much more aggressive and on song every gear change.

Return journey car drove well managed to only use 1/4 tank but all in all a very good day.

Pugfest report

Car drove up very well, sat at around 75-80 all the way and at 4k i couldnt wait to get out! lol used just under half a tank at around 35mpg.

Hill runs:- It was my first time launching the car with the diff in so i was going steady as i do need a tougher clutch every happy with the grip difference compared to last year. Now i struggled in the corners with it having a huge lock to lock rack and no pas yet i was finding it hard to hold on to it in the hairpin as the diff just wanted to pull it straight. But i was also having huge fuel surging mainly as i could enter corners alot faster, it almost died twice on the straight after the hair pin lol  Suspension set up is all to piss now so will have to rethink that too other than that car performed well.

Here is one of my better runs but really slowing down in the corners Sad

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CPPr825iKG0

Today the car decided it wanted to save more fuel and basically not burn any lol so i returned home in style! Karma for all the piss i took out of niall and his break downs Wink

[Image: 6450B09E-EFE0-4113-BE78-5CA6CF89DAEC_zpskxqdgwab.jpg]

I knew what it was before i was recovered. The fuel pump had given up despite being only 7 months old and surprising being a aps pump. Luckily its still under warranty with jjc. This is possibly my issue that i had at pugfest but im going to use the time now to fit my swirl pot finally!
Anyway some pictures that have appeared from pugfest.

Looked good at pugfest, you need to clip them hand brake cables up tho ,)

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Blandy - 16-07-2015

Very nice how do you find driving with the diff? do you have power steering?

Thanks, The cable is clipped up certainly wont fall down its because the cable is to long as its a 309 item its on my list to sort.
(16-07-2015, 01:29 PM)Blandy Wrote: Very nice how do you find driving with the diff? do you have power steering?

Firstly it was weird and took a good drive to get used to it admittedly i had to add some additive about 50ml to allow the plates to slip abit at slow speeds but i cant imagine driving with out it now! I can actually use 1st and get the power to the road. I dont have powersteering but it is coming soon along with a quicker rack.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Blandy - 17-07-2015

Do you know what the diff is set to? Tried mine today for the first time mine was set light purely for the fact I was concerned about having no pas and a quaife quick rack but it's fine no noise at all even think I should of went for a more aggressive set up lol

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 17-07-2015

It's a new 3j diff 40/90 I trusted miles in the settings.

RE: stef's 205 gti6 supercharged - Stef205 - 20-07-2015

update on my break down, jjc replaced my pump no questions asked which was good fitted it all in the pump housing and off it went again. Went out for a real hard hoon to break it in lol perfect! minimal surge. 500miles later boom! spluttering again luckily i wasnt far from home got it going and limped home. Spent all day investigating and found the main fuse holder for the 12+ feed to the omex relays was sloppy and not holding the fuse well and also suspect the part of the fuse box for the pump ive now isolated the pump feed away from the fuse box and i now has its own fuse holder and everything seems better, Pump is stronger and pressure has increased at the regulator. I hope to book a day at combe with a few friends for the 15th sept.
